Samantha Bee revisits Georgia again, lauding Stacey Abrams, mocking Brian Kemp
Samantha Bee loves Georgia. The state has provided her plenty of comedic fodder since she debuted her TBS weekly show two years ago. She first helped shed light on the Georgia rape kit bill that ultimately passed and requires police departments to test untested rape kits.
Earlier this year, one of her correspondents interviewed Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams and it was largely flattering. So it’s no surprise Bee opened her Wednesday show lauding Abrams as the first black female representing a major party running for governor and mocking the ads of GOP candidates Brian Kemp and Michael Williams. She also noted that it seems like everyone is named Stacey (or Stacy) in Georgia. Abrams defeated Stacey Evans in the Democratic primary and Stacy “Chris” Cagleis in the race on the Republican side.
